Pastry Baking

Dorcas Creation’s pastry program was started in 2020 as a response to Covid 19 effects on the youths based in the Marurui slum, which became a target group for this new training program. We tailored our training sessions to fit their circumstances with the use of charcoal, sufurias and other materials that were readily available.

The pastry program began as a means to keep the youths engaged as an alternative to risky behavior but this has now advanced to become an important path to economic empowerment for the participants. Some have started businesses while others have found the courage and confidence to pursue their dreams and realize their potential.
