Dorcas Creation Kenya (DCK), began at the back yard of founder Jane Thuo's residential house. It started as a bible study group for women in 2008. As the number of participants grew, bible study sessions grew to incorporate the learning of skills like beadwork, embroidery and mat-making. As the women began to share details bout their lives; it emerged that some of their children required physiotherapy services. The search for these services began and in 2021, DCK was formed.
Since then, DCK has played a leading role in provision of physiotherapy, psychosocial support services and mitigation of the socio-economic impact of raising differently abled children among caregivers in Marurui and other informal settlements.
The organization has been guided by the vision of "Transformed women, well-functioning households" and has existed to "Transform women, one at a time, through biblical discipleship and economic empowerment".
